Micheal Lynch of sports technology company ServeSport has submitted a change in use application for Unit 8/9c of Kendall Business Park in Stafford Park.

The company is already based in the adjoining unit, 11c, but the application states it needs more courts in order to meet growing demand.

The application states: "The pickleball centre has been an unqualified success, with over four hundred regular players now playing at the centre."

According to the plans, the current unit only has four parking spaces - meaning only one court can be hired out during the week. The additional unit comes with 23 spaces.

The application continues: "The existing three court centre is currently the only dedicated Pickleball centre in the UK and has attracted a significant amount of positive publicity for the sport and the town.

"The expansion of the number of courts from three to six will enable us to meet the ever-growing demand for the sport and provide more residents of Telford with the opportunity to play, thereby providing a much-needed health and leisure facility for Telford and for the parish in particular."

The plans also state that the expansion will create an additional six full-time jobs.
