Organised by the town council, the first ever Volunteer Gift Wrapping Day saw pupils from St Leonard's Church of England Primary School, Friends of St Leonard's School (FOSLS) and Bridgnorth Food Bank get together to wrap presents kindly donated by the children and families of the school.

A spokesperson for Bridgnorth Town Council said the event on December 18 saw scores of presents wrapped to ensure those in need have something to open on Christmas Day.

"From the food bank, Liz and Graham; Bridgnorth Lions, Richard and Chris; FOSLS, Claire Maurice; St Leonard's School, Miss Howell, Tilly, Rose, Robert, Alethea, Bradley and John; volunteers from the public, Jess, Jane, Samantha, Linda, Karen, Martha; The Peoples Hall Evangelical Church, Nina, and finally the Mayor's Consort, Pauline Wellings.

"We  would also like the thank Henry & Co for donating some gift wrap and to everyone who has made today a huge success. We have all been overwhelmed at the generosity from all involved."
