Three men taken to hospital after car crashes into field near Buildwas

Three men were taken to hospital after a car left the road and crashed into a field.

The injured people were treated by ambulance personnel after their vehicle crashed at Garmston, north of Cressage and west of Buildwas, at about 6.10pm on Monday (December 23).

The West Midlands Ambulance Service, the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Mercia Police all attended.

A statement from the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a single-car collision at the junction of Bennetts Lane and the B4380, Garmston at 6.07pm last night.

"One ambulance attended the scene and found three occupants, three men, out of the car. The two passengers were assessed and found with non-life-threatening injuries. They were conveyed, along with the driver who declined assessment, to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further checks in A&E."

A statement from the fire service said: "One fire appliance was mobilised from Much Wenlock.

"One vehicle left the road and ended up in a field. Three casualties with minor injuries [were] treated by ambulance crews. Police [were] in attendance for traffic management."

A statement from West Mercia Police said: “We were called to Bennetts Lane in Garmston at around 6.10pm yesterday to reports of a single-vehicle collision. No arrests were made and three people were left in the care of the ambulance service.”
