Robert Burrows, aged 38, targeted shops in Shrewsbury and Telford in a stealing spree which stretched from July to November this year.
His crimes were committed during the operational period of a suspended jail term, so magistrates at Kidderminster jailed him for 32 weeks.
Burrows’s shoplifting began at Farmfoods at Lancaster Retail Park in Brixton Way, Harlescott, Shrewsbury on July 31, where he stole jars of coffee worth £78.
