In what auctioneer's SDL Property has called a "unique opportunity to refurbish a period Georgian building", 50A High Street in Bridgnorth is set to face the gavel in January.

The Grade II-listed property dates back to the early 18th century and part of the building was once home to the Bridgnorth Journal offices.

Today, the lower floor is occupied by a Severn Hospice charity shop and Ori Wellness Centre.

The property had gone up for auction back in July but is now going back under the hammer on January 30.

According to the listing, it retains several original features including sash windows and a corbelled roofline and has been extended to the rear.

A spokesperson for SLD Property Auctions said: "This property presents a range of lucrative possibilities - whether as high-end residential apartments or as a bespoke hospitality destination in the heart of Bridgnorth.

"This impressive four-storey building is made up of two ground floor commercial units, one generating an income of £6,000 for the past year and the other attracting a peppercorn rent, the upper floors form part of the development opportunity on offer.

"A unique opportunity to refurbish a period Georgian building dating back to the early 18th century. The building, featuring classic architectural elements like brick quoins, sash windows, and gabled dormers, presents a variety of development options, including luxury apartments or a high-end hospitality venture."
