As 2024 draws to a close, it’s been a privilege to serve as the MP for North Shropshire during what has been an incredibly busy and rewarding year.

In July, I was honoured to be re-elected with a 15,000-strong majority. The trust and support shown by people across North Shropshire means a lot – this is my home too – and I am determined to repay that by continuing to work tirelessly on the issues that impact our rural areas and market towns.

I’m also proud to have taken on a new role as the Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, helping to raise critical issues affecting health and care. For me, fixing our NHS should be the top priority of the Government in 2025. It is certainly the top issue on the doorstep in North Shropshire.

This year, I made 130 contributions in Parliament, championing local concerns at every opportunity and ensuring Shropshire’s voice is heard. The word ‘Shropshire’ came up 54 times in debates – reflecting the pride I feel in representing our communities. Whether it’s tackling problems at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals, pushing for improved rural health services, keeping pressure on for the Oswestry to Gobowen rail link, or standing up for flood-hit residents, I’ve worked to deliver on the issues that matter most to you.

In Wem, my constituency office has dealt with over 7,000 pieces of casework this year. That means nearly 20,000 people have been helped since I was elected in 2021, and I’m incredibly proud of the difference my brilliant team and I have made.

Representing North Shropshire remains an incredible honour. Whether it’s in Parliament, on the ground in our market towns, or helping individuals with their challenges, I’ll continue to work hard for our county.

Thank you for placing your trust in me – I won’t stop doing everything I can to stand up for our wonderful part of the world.
