An order to upgrade 'Footpath 74' on the Wrekin has been made by Telford & Wrekin Council.

The path runs from Wrekin Course up the north side of the hill and joins the main track just above the Halfway House.

If the order is confirmed, the path will be upgraded to a bridleway. Bridleways were originally created for horses, but are now often used by cyclists and hikers.

The order comes as the public awaits a decision on plans to create a new pay and display car park at the foot of the popular hiking spot - close to whether the new bridleway would begin.
