In what was their first recorded incident in the county in 2025, the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 3.25am reporting the car fire on the B4363 in Billingsley near Bridgnorth .

One fire crew was sent from Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station to the scene.

The SRFS incident log said the car was "well alight".

Firefighters used two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the incident.

Crews were finished at the scene by 4.12am.
