An issue with booster pumps led customers to report experiences of no supply, poor pressure and discoloured water.
The water company first received reports of the problem in the SY4 area of Shrewsbury at 11.39am.
A post revealed the issue, saying: "We’d like to apologise to those experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water in the SY4 area of Shrewsbury. We have found that the pumps that help us move water around your area have stopped working.
"As we know what the problem is, we’ve already got engineers on the way to reset these pumps which will return the water supply to normal."
It was first expected that the problem would be resolved by 4pm, but less than an hour after the issue was identified, the water company announced that supplies had returned back to normal.
"We’re pleased to inform you that the booster pumps that supply water to your area are working again and the water supply is back to normal," said an update at 12.26pm.
"For those that were impacted by this we’d like to thank you for your continued patience whilst this was being carried out."
