Have your say on local Powys bus services
A six-week online consultation on changes to the local Powys bus services has begun.
The consultation follows an initial online engagement exercise, and a series of engagement events held across the county, where we sought feedback on the current local bus network and the wants and needs of bus users.
Using this feedback and information from meetings with bus providers and other stakeholders, a series of revised bus timetables have been developed.
The consultation allows residents to search for and examine these updated timetables by your chosen localities. For example, you can look at all the timetables within the area where you live and for those in the area where you work, go to school, or visit socially.
“Could you help shape the future of the Powys Local Bus Network? We really want to hear from residents and bus users about the proposed new timetables,” said Councillor Jackie Charlton, Cabinet Member for a Greener Powys.
“Providing an effective and efficient local bus network in Powys is challenging due to the sheer size of the county and the low population density outside of the five core towns of Welshpool, Newtown, Llandrindod Wells, Brecon and Ystradgynlais.
“We are eager to work with current and potential bus users to understand the barriers they face using public transport and find compromises and solutions that improve the timetables and passenger experience. Please spare a few moments and share your thoughts.”
