The Environment Agency has confirmed that barriers have gone up at Frankwell in Shrewsbury, as well as in Bewdley in Worcestershire.
The confirmation came after Shropshire Council earlier announced that Shrewsbury's Frankwell Main and Frankwell Riverside car parks would be closed.
Flood alerts and warnings remain in place for several parts of the county following heavy rain earlier this week.
The Environment Agency said it still expects the level of the River Severn to rise in coming days.
Posting on social media it said: "We're expecting to see levels rise on the River Severn over the next few days. So, we're deploying the flood barriers in Frankwell, Shrewsbury and Bewdley, Worcestershire."
