Rhayader groups benefit from over £2,300 in grant money

The money came from the Bryn Titli wind farm scheme and it is given to the town council to distribute to local groups.

The Mayor of Rhayader Councillor Clare Evans announced the funds to representatives from some of the community groups before the December town council meeting. 

Rhayader Under 5’s received £880 for 16 sets of waterproof jackets and dungarees to enable the children to participate in outdoor activities.

The Community Transport Scheme, a project run by The Arches, Rhayader and District Community Support, was awarded £474.46 to purchase first aid kits and emergency car kits for 14 volunteer drivers who support the scheme by driving their own vehicles.

Rhayader Town Football Club and Junior Football Club, were awarded £1,000 toward their ambitious project to replace the existing Floodlights. Project costs will total some £42,237. 

The Bryn Titli wind farm features 22 wind turbines and has been operational since 1994.
