Inspectors have graded Oswestry Methodist Church Pre-school as 'Good' across the board following a visit in November last year.
Staff were praised for promoting children's wider personal development "effectively" and for engaging in constant dialogue with children, while leaders were said to have a "clear vision for further strengthening the setting's offer to children and families".
The pre-school's curriculum for its 22 children aged between two and four was also said to be ambitious and "well sequenced", enabling children to make progress.
The report published on November 27 said: "Staff understand how young children develop and learn. Since the last inspection, they have made changes to the way they track children's progress.
"These enable staff to spend more time interacting with children. Therefore, they know more about what children already know and can do, and any gaps are identified more quickly."
