Telford firefighters battle blaze which spread from log store to home

Firefighters were called to deal with a blaze which spread to a house from a log store.

The incident took place at Ketley Dingle in Telford on Saturday (January 4) with the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service alerted to the situation shortly before 3pm.

Two crews from Wellington were sent to the scene.

An update from the fire service said that a blaze in a log store next to the property had spread to the home.

Posting on social media, Amber Watch Wellington said: "On arrival, crews found the fire to be contained within a log store which had spread to the property.

"Crews removed damaged parts of the exterior, and extinguished the fire using hose reel jets before emptying the contents of the log store to damp down all affected wood."
