Delbury Hall is located in the village of Diddlebury, between Craven Arms and Aston Munslow. Jack Wrigley, who has submitted the application to Shropshire Council, says the proposal will free up space for a seating area next to the Coach House bar.

“Currently the Coach House bar does not have any seating which is a big drawback for the venue which is putting couples off booking to get married,” said Mr Wrigley.

“By moving the loos, it will improve the Delbury Hall wedding venue significantly. Currently, the loos are located immediately as you go into the venue on the left right next to the bar. The existing Delbury Hall wedding business is finding it very difficult compete with nearby wedding venues.

Delbury Hall could be setting up ‘shepherd’s huts’ as accommodation

“By moving the ladies and gents loos and so creating a cosy bar area, it will mean that the Delbury Hall wedding venue will be hugely improved. The proposed loos are to be created using reclaimed brick, as close as possible to the existing coach house building.

“It is hoped that by moving the loos and creating a new bar area it will mean that more people will book to get married at Delbury Hall, which will in turn provide more employment and jobs in the area for people working at the weddings.”

Mr Wrigley added that the toilet block will be built using reclaimed brick in order to make it blend in as much as possible with the existing Coach House building. Representations can be made about the application (24/04695/FUL) up to January 27 before officers decide whether to either grant or refuse it.
