Cuan Wildlife Rescue in Much Wenlock started in 1990, and has grown over the years but last year proved to be their busiest yet.
The centre said last year they treated 6,500 animals and birds, which is around 1,000 more than they treated in 2023.
They put down the large number to a number of factors, including the warm weather at the start of the year that boosted animal breeding.
Tina Cooke from the centre, thanked supporters for their donations and help.
She said: “What a year 2024 has been! It has been our busiest year ever helping close to 6500 animals.
“We’ve seen all sort of animals come in from tiny blue tits to huge fallow deers, and we’ve had the privilege to release many of these back to the wild where they belong.
“Our staff and volunteers have worked incredibly hard to make sure these animals receive the best possible care, and also we couldn’t have done it without the support of our followers.”
She added: “It’s wonderful to reflect on some of the rescues, unusual patients, the relentless feeding of babies in the spring and summer - all the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteers has helped us to achieve our busiest year on record!
“Before we start all the planning for 2025, such as how can we make our processes slicker, what fundraising events can we get involved with, how can we we raise the profile of our charity further, we would sincerely like to wish all of our wonderful supporters the very best for 2025 - we could not achieve all that we do without your support.”
She said any compaies or workplaces that would like to get involved by donating either goods or money, or helping in any other way should get in touch on their website.
The charity has recently submitted plans for a larger hospital building and invested in a new, paid for by fundraising.
Two of the charity's largest fundraising drives take place in the summer.
On Saturday, July 26, Cuan will hold its Open Day and Dog Show, the only day of the year the public have access to our hospital to see all the animals and birds.
And on Sunday, August 17, they host their annual Classic Car & Craft Fayre, with lots of vintage cars, tractors, motorcycles, so many craft stalls and entertainment - a great day out!
