Desmond Rogers appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court where he was told he faces three charges of fraud - relating to his position as treasurer responsible for three groups.

Rogers, 51, and from Hough Way in Shifnal, was not asked to enter pleas to the charges, with a further hearing scheduled for later this month.

Count one alleges he committed fraud worth £126,000 by abusing his position as treasurer of St Andrew's Church in Shifnal.
