Fire crews called to tackle hybrid car blaze near Much Wenlock

Firefighters tackled a fire that had broken out in the front compartment of a hybrid car.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a car fire near Much Wenlock at around 3.40pm on Wednesday (January 8).

Two fire engines from Much Wenlock Fire Station attended the scene in Callaughtons Ash.

A spokesperson for the fire service said the blaze had involved a fire in the front compartment of a hybrid car.

The crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.

The stop message, which indicates the scene was under control, was received at 6.21pm.
