Woman taken to hospital and treated for 'potentially' serious injuries after crash involving two vehicles near Shrewsbury

A woman has been treated for "potentially" serious injuries and taken to hospital after a crash involving two vehicles on a 'B' road near Shrewsbury.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.59am reporting the road traffic collision at the junction of the B5061 and B4394 near Norton.

One fire crew was sent from Wellington Fire Station to the scene. 

Police and ambulance crews were also in attendance.

Firefighters made the two vehicles safe. 

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of the B5061 and B4394 near Norton just before 7.50am. 

"An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision. There was one patient - a woman - who was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."

The AA's traffic news website said: "Road blocked and slow traffic due to crash on B5061 both ways between B4394 and The Horseshoes Pub.

The incident concluded at 8.39am.
