The Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) beds are intended for a two-storey modular unit to be housed at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), with planning approval for the project granted on May 21 last year.

The plans are for the building to be based immediately to the left of the entrance to the site off the roundabout on Mytton Oak Road.

But the units to house the beds remain in storage, it has been confirmed.

SaTH has declined to comment on the situation.

The Government allocated £21.4m to Shropshire for the beds back in August 2023.
