Around 200 runners took part in the division three race in the Birmingham & District Invitation Cross-Country League, which was hosted by Telford AC at Attingham Park on Saturday.

Despite temperatures reaching a staggering -7C in the early hours of Saturday morning, by the afternoon it had warmed up enough to not be too uncomfortable for the runners.

One of the organisers, Martin Ludford, said: "Everyone managed to cope with the conditions - it was pretty firm, still rather frozen - but they got round!"

The course took the runners on three laps around the Grade I-listed venue, covering around 10km of ground.

Martin added: "It's been an excellent event, it's an excellent venue and a wonderful place to run. The course is marvellous and everyone has enjoyed it."
