The “distraught” family of John Prodger have paid tribute to him after he died at the Wynnstay Depot in Llansantffraid, near Llanymynech, on Monday, January 6.

The 65-year-old, who was from the Llanrhaeadr Y Mochnant area, worked for Wynnstay for almost four decades.

In a statement from the family released by Dyfed Powys Police said: “We are distraught by our loss. John will be missed by us all.

“He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather and lived life to the full and will be remembered for his friendly nature and kindness.

“John worked at Wynnstay for nearly 40 years and will be sadly missed by all his colleagues.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. It has meant so much to the whole family.

“We would now like time to grieve and would ask to be given privacy in which to do so."

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 6.20am last Monday.

Mr Prodger’s death is not being treated as suspicious, but enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
