The essential work is taking place at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury, inside the spectacular mansion and across the estate.
An update from Attingham Park said: "Starting today, we’re embarking on some essential maintenance and restoration work across the estate.
"This important work ensures the continued care of our historic mansion and its beautiful grounds."
The work has seen scaffolding set up inside the mansion, with the update saying: "The team has been busy removing all traces of Christmas and working diligently to cover and protect the historic interiors and collection in the picture gallery, ahead of maintenance work in the roof void above.
"A scaffold access tower is being constructed at the front of the mansion to allow this maintenance work to be carried out.
"When the mansion reopens on Saturday, February 15, the picture gallery will be slightly darker due to the scaffolding above.
"Additional lighting will be added, and some collection items will remain covered for protection, giving the space a slightly different look during this period."
Work is also taking place to restore one of the paths at the site.
An update on social media explained: "We are restoring the surface of the Mile Walk path, which has naturally degraded over time.
"Our goal is to ensure the path remains a safe and accessible feature for all visitors.
"A diversion will be in place on weekdays for the areas of the path undergoing restoration. The path will reopen at weekends.
"The visitor buggy service will be out of action on weekdays to accommodate the work being carried out.
"The snowdrop path will remain open throughout."
