Police visit farm in Telford to 'strengthen communication' as crackdown on rural crime continues

Rural and business officers Pc Paul Gough and Sian Thomas visited a farm in Telford this morning (January 15) as part of efforts to ensure a safe environment for local farmers.
West Mercia Police's Farm Watch scheme is now operating in Telford and Wrekin. Police say they are strengthening communication between themselves and farms in the area to ensure that concerns are addressed quickly and effectively.
A post on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page said: "Rural and business officers, Pc Gough and Sian Thomas, had the pleasure of visiting a local farm in Telford to discuss crime prevention strategies. It’s always rewarding to engage with our rural community, as we work together to safeguard properties and ensure a safe environment for local farmers and businesses.
"Through our Farm Watch scheme, now operating in Telford and Wrekin, we are strengthening communication between the police and farms in our area, ensuring concerns are addressed quickly and effectively. By building these vital connections, we can continue to improve the safety and security of rural areas."
