Ronald James Evason, aged 71, was riding his Triumph motorbike with a sidecar on the A49 at Upper Battlefield when he collided with two vehicles on June 21 last year.

Mr Evason, who used to compete in motorbike races “to a high level”, was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he died on September 11.

An inquest into his death at Shropshire Coroner’s Court, Guildhall, Shrewsbury, was told that Mr Evason was a retired council worker who lived at Ash Grove, Pontesbury, and was divorced.
