David Fenwick of Much Wenlock Town Council, who is also chair of the Gaskell Field Management Committee, said the field on the Gaskell Recreation Ground was damaged by the youths on Wednesday morning.
He said: “There's damage to the turf on the Gaskell Fields by, we think, two youths on mini-motorbikes.
“We don't know who they are, but we think they are local so we are hoping their parents will get them under control.
“The turf will recover in time but this is a regular thing, and this is very antisocial and inconsiderate behaviour with health and safety implications.”
He added that the Much Wenlock Safer Neighbourhood Team have been informed and has asked anybody who witnesses such behaviour on the field to contact the town clerk on 01952 727509.
