Concord College has been given permission to demolish two buildings on its site in Acton Burnell and replace them with improved dining facilities and a boarding house.

The development is all part of a masterplan announced in 2023 to replace several outdated buildings and improve the quality of boarding accommodation following a period of growth in pupil numbers.

Permission to build the first two masterplan projects, a new-build boarding house for accommodation for 60 boys and a new-build sports hall, have both been approved. Work on both buildings began last year, and construction is due for completion in late 2025.

Now, the next phases of the plans - to build a new dining hall and another boarding house - have been given the green light.

Two buildings are set for demolition in the latest proposal: the Elisabeth Boarding House and the West End Building.
