A Wild West pantomime will be held in Knighton soon
Knighton will be transported to the Wild West when the town's theatre group puts on its anual pantomime.
Teme Spirits will perform “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Sisters” pantomime by Andrew Yates at The Community Centre, Knighton on Friday, January 17 for an evening performance and Saturday, January 18 a matinee and evening performances 2025.
Producers Carole and Sandra said: “Over the years Teme Spirits have presented the pantomime Cinderella three times. This got us wondering ‘what happened next?’.
“Yes, Cinderella married Prince Charming and lived happily ever after, but what about the Ugly Sisters?
“We have had a lot of fun finding the answers and can now share with you the journey they went on and hope you enjoy discovering what happened next for them.”
Jemma Tranter plays Cinderella and Emma Lewis is Prince Charming. Graham Rimmer is Spitunia, Phill George is Salivia and Tracie Durant is the Ugly Sister’s mother.
Fiona Collins plays Belle, Jo Pardoe-Bouchard is Rattlesnake, James Mitchell is Nugget, Chloe Lewis is Katie, Alice Gresham is Connie, Simon Green is Billy the Skid, Bethany Davies is Insanity Jane and Ian Sharp plays Wyatt Twerp.
Helen Wyles and Linda Hawkes play Silver, Matt Price is Doc Feelgood, Linda Hawkes is Crazy Dog and Mandy Fowkes is Skeleton
A chorus of wedding guests, miners, showgirls, stage coach passengers and dancers include Janet Beech, Helen Davies, Tracie Durant, Mandy Fowkes, Linda Hawkes, Sally Humphries, Emma Lewis, Jo Lewis, Ann Lloyd, Sasha-Jane Taylor, Jemma Tranter, Rose Whitefoot, and Helen Wyles.
The musicians include Andrew Thomas on piano, Ruth Middleton on clarinet and Trevor Head on drums.
The panto is produced by Carole Pigram and Sandra Sharp, the musical director is Andrew Thomas and the stage manager is Alice Gresham assisted by Sarah Griffith, India Humphries, Fiona Collins, Gillian Gresham and Sasha-Jane Taylor and Graham Rimmer.
Sandra Sharp and Carole Pigram look after the costumes and Ann Lloyd did Silver’s costume, the dressers are Val Bailey and Sandy Davies, Linda Hawkes and helpers do the make-up and Carol Powell looks after properties.
Dave Morgan does the lighting and sound, Sarah Green is the prompt, front of house are John Lewis, Julia and John Roberts and members of the cast.
Helen Wyles looks after publicity, social media and cast refreshments, Ann Lloyd did the poster and ticket design.
In the past Teme Spirits have performed many pantomimes going back to 1977 when their first was Aladdin. Since then they have done family favourites such as Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood as well as more unusual productions such as Sinbad the Sailor in 1989, King Arthur in 2011 and Humpty Dumpty – The Egg’s Factor in 2019.
Tickets are on sale from either The Tower House Gallery on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday or Teme Treasures on Monday and Tuesday.
Tickets are £11 for adults and £6 for primary school aged children. Cash payments preferred please.
Children over four are welcomed to all the performances but please note that children under four will only be permitted to the matinee performance.
