The next pay day seems a long way away, but the lure of a night out in a pub or restaurant is one which is hard to shake off for many people, so a lot of restaurants and pub chains have stepped up to offer discounts and promotions to bring people in.

Marston's pubs 30 per cent off
The pub chain are offering 30 per cent off main meals across January at pubs in Shrewsbury and other pubs across the region.
Customers are able to go onto the Marston's website at any pub in the region and sign up to get a code for 30 per cent off main meals, up to and including eight people on a table.
The code can then be used between Monday and Saturday until February 1.
George Oswestry, Oswestry
The George Oswestry is one of many pubs under the Craft Union banner which is bringing down the cost of pints to welcome in customers during January as part of its New Year sale.
