Moor Park school welcomed Area Fundraiser for Hope House Children’s Hospices, Dawn Ball last Friday to speak to pupils about the charity and what services and care it provides to seriously ill children in the region.
Students were said to find Dawn's presentation engaging and informative, and Headmaster James Duffield reiterated the importance of hospices to Moor Park's pupils who he said were just like them and their families.
He added that the Ludlow school would continue to raise funds for the hospices so they can continue to provide the amazing care that they does throughout the year in Shropshire. Hope House Children's Hospices has been chosen as the private school's Charity of the Year who they will raise funds for.
Dawn told pupils at Moor Park how their two hospices, Hope House and Ty Gobaith, cost more than £9 million each year to run, meaning that they rely on fundraising in order to provide their facilities that families need.
Dawn Ball, Area Fundraiser said: "We are hugely grateful to Moor Park School for choosing Hope House Children’s Hospices as their Charity of the Year.
"The families of the children we care for tell us every day that our hospices are an absolute lifeline for them. We simply wouldn't be able to offer this care if it were not for the support from our local community.
"We are truly thankful they have chosen to support seriously ill local children and I look forward to hearing all about their fundraising ideas over the next 12 months."
