Station Road in Newport will be closed in one direction for around two weeks to allow for Severn Trent to undertake connection works.

The work is set to begin on Monday, February 3, and the closure is expected to be in place until Sunday, February 16.

The road will be closed to traffic heading northwest, from the Church Aston 'Sheep Island' towards Newport town centre, to Station Road's junction with Town Wells.

A 2.7-mile diversion will be in place while the closure is in place, with drivers asked to continue down the A518 and join Wellington Road at Pitchcroft Roundabout.

Vehicle traffic travelling southeasterly, away from the town centre, will be unaffected.
