Chris and Marianne Fisher of Tread The Globe ditched their day-to-day grind in 2020 and spent more than four years traversing the globe in their trusty Fiat Ducato campervan named 'Trudy'.

After returning home in September to the very spot where they began their trip, next to the Iron Bridge, and enjoying a short break in Shropshire for Christmas, the couple quickly got their bags packed again and jetted off to the other side of the world.

Even after touring more than 30 countries in recent years the couple, who boast more than 193,000 subscribers to their YouTube channel and hundreds of thousands of followers across social media channels, are straight back to it and are now exploring Borneo.

Their daring expedition to the wilds of northern Borneo has already seen them explore rural villages, jungles and rainforests, and see Borneo's 'big five' animal species.

In December the couple announced that they were heading out to Malaysia before beginning the search for their next vehicle to tour the region in.

Originally, the pair planned to spend around £4,000 on a 4x4 vehicle that they would use to tour around in. But, after meeting with local Alex Leong who is the vice president of the Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association and the Borneo Safari event manager, plans changed.

Alex, who organises the annual event in Borneo which sees around 580 4x4 cars tour the area and jungles during October on an eight-day exhibition, said the couple needed better than the Toyota 4x4s they were looking at, and had concerns that the Telford pair may get stuck in the jungle.

And so, without Chris and Marianne knowing, he got in touch with Isuzu Malaysia, which has since decided to supply and loan the couple a special 'D Max X Terrain' 4x4 that is used as a media car for reporters and press covering the safari.
