Kington venue to hold a community question and answer session to talk about their plans.
A Kington venue which has just been awarded a £92,000 National Lottery Heritage grant, is holding a community question and answer session to talk about their plans.
The money will allow Open Arms Kington to progress their plans to restore Oxford Arms in Kington and its renovation into a community space.
The group aims to preserve the building’s rich heritage while returning the space to the community as a venue for events and services, as well as boosting the local economy and providing jobs through its pub and B&B offering.
Development funding of £92,496 was last week awarded progress plans and to enable the group to apply for a full grant of £1.13 million at a later date.
Now Open Arms Kington is holding a community question and answer session at the barn on Sunday, February 2 between 2pm and 3pm.
It will allow residents to ask the team questions and learn more about the plans and timeline for renovation work at The Oxford, what the National Lottery Heritage Grant is funding and how they will be developing their events program and more in 2025.
A spokesperson said: “Bring your questions and have your say!
“Our bar and cafe will be open 12-4pm for refreshments.
“If you can’t make the event but have questions about the project, email your questions to info@openarmskington.co.uk, or just put them through The Oxford’s letterbox.”
A full transcript of the Q&A will be shared on OAK’s website and social media following the event.
