Severn Trent Water works to fix two burst mains in Newport - supplies now returned to normal
Engineers have worked to fix a burst water main in Newport this morning which caused further supply interruptions in the area following a burst pipe incident.

After disruptions to residents' water supplies due to a burst water pipe, Severn Trent Water apologised to Newport residents within the post code area of TF10 after identifying a further burst in the area.
An alert by the water company at 6.48am said: "We would like to apologise for the recent supply interruption in your area. We have now completed the repair to the burst water pipe.
"However, we have now identified a further burst in the area. Our teams are working to repair this as soon as possible to get your water flowing as normal again.
"We are very sorry and understand how inconvenient this has been. Thank you for your patience. We will provide an update here once we receive more information."
Engineers worked for more than an hour to fix the problem, and water supplies were returned to normal by 8.16am.
Severn Trent Water said: "We’re pleased to inform you that the repair for the burst water main is now completed. The water supply has been returned to normal.
"For those that were impacted by this we’d like to thank you for your continued patience whilst this was being carried out."
