Matthew Parsons, aged 38, was banned from the road for three years after driving a Citroen Picasso on Telford Way, Telford while under the influence on October 11 last year.
Telford Magistrates Court was told how officers pulled him over at around 8.30pm and suspected he had taken something.
A positive roadside drugs swipe was taken and Parsons was arrested.
A blood test was carried out while Parsons was in custody and found he had six micrograms of Delta 9 THC - the main psychoactive substance in cannabis - per litre of blood. The legal limit, taking into account the possibility of accidental exposure, is 2mcg.
