Businesswomen from Shropshire will be gathering together at a networking event next month.

To celebrate Women's Enterprise Day on Wednesday, November 14, WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) is holding a conference called Get Connected.

The event will be held at Patshull Park Hotel, Pattingham, and will form part of WiRE's Opening Doors programme.

There will be free workshops, training, support and information to help women set up and run their own business. Planned to run from 9.30am to 3pm, the aim of the day is to give participants ideas on how to boost their business.

A range of inspirational speakers has been lined up including Julie Grant of Plinkfizz on strategic marketing.

After lunch there will be a fun speed networking hour where participants will be able to meet each other and swop stories and tips for success. The event will end with a motivational talk by the keynote speaker, Rachel Heyhoe-Flint.

Sarah Franklin, the Project Officer for Shropshire, said she was thrilled that so many inspirational women have agreed to speak at the event.

"One of the barriers to women setting up their own business is the lack of role models that they encounter in society," she added.

The Get Connected Conference is free for anyone who is thinking of starting a business or who has been trading for less than 12 months.

The charge for women with established businesses is £10.
