A pub in the heart of a Shropshire village has been put up for sale, sparking fears that the new owner may not keep it as an inn.
Pontesbury has four pubs but if the Red Lion is sold, councillors are worried it could be turned into something else.
Councillor Nick Hignett said: "There are still three village pubs. But this is right in the centre of the village and the heart of the community."
Jo Sandall, a spokeswoman for Punch Taverns, which owns the pub, said: "The Red Lion is for sale and we are in discussions with potential buyers."
