Fifty jobs are being created in a Mid Wales town when a care company opens a new office to provide home care for elderly and vulnerable people.

Radis Community Care is opening the office in Welshpool later this week, with 20 people already employed and a further 30 due to join them.

The company, which will open its base at the Severn Farm Enterprise Park, will be supporting Powys County Council to provide home help to elderly and vulnerable adults in Welshpool and the surrounding areas including Llanfair Caereinion, Lanfyllin, Montgomery, Berriew, Forden, Guilsfield and Newtown.

Lauren Bailey, branch manager, said she was excited at getting the service up and running in Welshpool and she believes that it can make a real difference to care in the area.

She said: "We are a team of local people looking forward to providing reliable, first class care to people in our community.

"We'll be working in partnership with Powys County Council, other practioners and providers and are also able to provide services privately.

"Personally I am really looking forward to getting my team out into the community and making a positive difference.

"The team has been handpicked for their great personality, skills, abilities and values. They have also received an excellent training package, as you'd expect from a company that's won several awards for its standard of care and delivery of quality care services."
