Welshpool Firm expands in Perth, Australia

A Welshpool firm is expanding its operations Down Under to cope with a huge growth in demand, bosses claimed today.

Chemostrat International provides specialist services to oil and gas companies from its headquarters on the Buttington Cross Enterprise Park.

Now the company is opening an office in Perth, Australia, in a bid to cope with demand.

Dr Tim Pearce, Chemostrat's chief executive, said it was an exciting time for the company.

He said: "With the continued increase in uptake of our services in the Asia Pacific region, we believe it is imperative for continued growth to have a presence closer to the marketplace."

Chemostrat currently employs 35 people at its Welshpool site.
