Palethorpes savouries announces big deals

Over 150 years ago, Henry Palethorpe began making and selling sausages from his butcher's shop in Tipton. In 1967, a new purpose-built factory opened in Market Drayton at the cost of £650,000 with jobs for approximately 400 people.

Palethorpes supplies hot pies, sausage rolls, pasties and slices for many of the UK's leading supermarkets and food retailers, both under the Pork Farms brand and own label branding.

Backed by Vision Capital, this year has seen significant investment in new machinery to support its strategy to drive growth and sustain business for the future.

Palethorpes is delighted to announce that it has secured additional business with a leading retailer in the hot pie market and will be launching these products over the coming weeks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the site and helps the company move towards its vision of being the supplier of choice for pastry and fillings.

This year, as Palethorpes celebrates 45 years of the production of great products in Market Drayton, well over 500 people are employed at the factory and Palethorpes has become one of the largest employers in Shropshire. It has a dedicated and long-serving workforce; employees are passionate about what they do, are experts in their field and are committed to delivering the highest customer service and quality standards.

Palethorpes recently celebrated 45 years of production at the Market Drayton site with a fun day held on the grounds outside the factory. It was a fantastic day, which was supported by employees past, present and hopefully future, and was well attended by friends and neighbours.

The company is delighted that this event raised £4,500 for local charities and would like to express thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped, attended, supported and kindly donated to the raising of these funds.
