Graham Taylor is to take the reigns at Nock Deighton, which has offices in Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Telford and Ironbridge, following the retirement of Michael Evans, who had held the position since September 2008.

Mr Taylor has worked at Nock Deighton for the last 18 years, and takes up his new post following a successful spell as finance and human resources director, then as company secretary.

As well as being a member of the National Association of Estate Agents, he is also an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Mr Taylor said: "It is a great honour to take up this new position, as even though the housing market in general has faced huge challenges over the past few years, Shropshire has very much remained a sought-after location with both buyers and sellers.

"Michael certainly leaves some pretty big shoes for me to fill, and we are delighted that his local knowledge and wealth of experience will continue to be a huge asset to our company in his new role as consultant.

I and everyone at Nock Deighton would like to thank him for his outstanding efforts, and wish him a very well-deserved retirement."

With a career in estate agency dating back more than 50 years, the last 25 of which were focused on the Ludlow and south Shropshire area, Mr Evans originally joined Nock Deighton in 1989 as manager of its Ludlow office.

He will continue to provide consultancy support to the company.

He said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nock Deighton and would like to wish the company every success in the future.

"I have been extremely fortunate to work alongside some fantastically talented property professionals at the firm, and wish Graham all the very best in his new role at the helm, while I'm also looking forward to passing on my advice and expertise as a consultant in the months and years to come."
