Pump and mixer manufacturer Landia has secured the new orders in far flung corners of the world.

First, it picked up a deal worth £50,000 to supply mixers for a sustainable palm oil plantation in Thailand.

That was closely followed by a £200,000 contract to provide one of its systems - the GasMix - to a major new biogas plant near Perth in Western Australia.

The project down under also saw Landia heavily involved with the design of the new plant, as well as taking responsibility for the complete mechanical supply.

Landia UK's only resident director, Hugh Vaughan, said: "These new orders demonstrate the excellent reputation that our GasMix system is gaining worldwide – and how we can deliver a first class solution to our customers on the other side of the world from right here in Whitchurch.

"The biogas industry recognises that our GasMix technology provides key benefits over typical mixing systems.

"In addition to the fact that it helps increase biogas and does so more quickly, our kit is so much easier to maintain because it is located on the outside of the tank."

Landia has also scooped new orders closer to home, including with Thames Water and a leading waste management company in the West Country where a large waste-to-energy plant is nearing completion.
