Electric motors firm recruiting for growth
An electric motors manufacturing company says it is is contributing £5 million a year to the local economy as well as providing new jobs in the run-up to Christmas.
Welshpool-based Invertek Drives will be recruiting five new members of staff in the coming weeks with the promise of a further five new posts in the next 12 months.
Charles Haspel, company operations director, said the move is due to international demand for the firm's speed drive electric motors after the company had enjoyed an extremely successful year.
He said the firm is in the advanced stages of planning a significant expansion to its production facility on the Offa's Dyke Business Park, which will increase the company's output capability by 100 per cent over the next three years.
Mr Haspel said he was "proud" that Invertek contributes about £5 million a year to the economy in Welshpool and praised the efforts of staff.
He said: "Following another year of outstanding international success, Invertek is looking for additional people to support the company with its continued growth.
"Positions currently available include operators, quality technicians/engineers and housekeeping staff.
Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies also praised the company. He said: "Invertek is a locally based global company, with the vast majority of its turnover generated from international sales in 80 countries. They are a great example of Montgomeryshire's thriving business network. Their plans for the future are very exciting and will do much to support the local economy."
