The company, which is based on Stafford Park Industrial Estate, is to more than double the size of its manufacturing base as it opens 75,000 sq ft of new space in Telford at two sites in the coming year.

Sirane has been expanding in recent years, with a number of new products for different food markets.

Now it is also moving into the medical and healthcare sectors with the launch of a standalone business called Enaris, which will also been based in Telford.

Sirane Group is also growing overseas, with factories either open or soon to open in Mexico and Russia.

“Sirane has grown significantly in recent years, and we’ve been looking for additional manufacturing space for a while," said Sirane Group managing director Mark Balderson.

"These additional units will allow us to fulfil our ambitions and increase our manufacturing output significantly, as well as target new markets where we’re not currently selling."

He added: “For Sirane, creating Enaris as a separate entity to our other existing business makes complete sense.

“Enaris opens up many possibilities for us, and I am looking forward to seeing the company grow.

“Enaris will evolve as the medical world evolves. We can access and develop new technologies, and will constantly be innovating to keep up with requirements.”

The announcement marks another significant moment for Telford on the back of a string of announcements of inward investment in the town.

Already Magna International is working on the development of a new aluminium castings factory at the T54 business park near Stafford Park, while Austrian business Polytec Group recently announced plans for its own plastic parts plant for the automotive sector nearby.

Yesterday it was revealed that 200 jobs are being created at Halesfield as white goods giant AO is building a state-of-the-art recycling centre there.
