Midlands agency MNA Digital welcomed 11 representatives from businesses and organisations throughout Shropshire to an information session hosted by managing director Andy Hill.

The session, held at the Star’s HQ in Waterloo Road, Ketley, included tips on ensuring company websites appear high up on Google search rankings and ways of ensuring businesses engage with the rapidly growing mobile audience.

The guests at the event on Wednesday (29) included representatives of Telford Priory and Telford Langley schools, University of Chester, Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, as well as Wrekin Housing Trust and Pugh’s Funeral Directors.

Mr Hill talked guests through latest developments in the fast-changing world of online marketing, including the importance of ensuring web visitor data is kept secure.

He also answered questions from visitors and gave the visitors a series of free tips to optimise their digital marketing.

Employing 40 staff, MNA Digital offers a range of services including web advertising, website design, video and search engine optimisation.

MNA Digital is owned by Midland News Association, publishers of the Express & Star and Shropshire Star.

Following the event visitors were given a tour of the Shropshire Star newsroom, led by editor Martin Wright.

They were given the rare opportunity to put their questions to the editor as they saw the team in action.

The guests were able to see newspapers being printed on the presses, before they had the chance to network with lunch in the boardroom.

The event is the third in a series of visits to be organised to showcase the MNA as a multimedia platform.

Mr Hill said: “It was a pleasure to be able to offer practical advice to representatives from a range of businesses at the Shropshire Star.

“Working with local SMEs, we understand that many companies need tips on making the most of digital marketing platforms available to them.

“It is important for all of us working in digital that as many people as possible get practical information so they can make informed decisions, benefitting our industry as a whole.”
