Ex-Muller chief leaves the business
The former global boss of dairy giant Muller has formally left the company.
Ronald Kers announced in March that he was to leave Muller, to be replaced by Uwe Sommer, the head of international marketing, sales and global retail at chocolate manufacturer Lindt and Sprungli.
He had been set to stay on until May as a transition period before the handover of the reins at the company, and his directorship has now formally been cancelled at Companies House.
Muller has not commented on Mr Kers' departure, and has not given an official reason for the management change, although reports had claimed it is in part because Mr Kers doesn’t want to move from the UK to Luxembourg.
Bergen Merey remains managing director of Müller Yogurt & Desserts, which includes the operations at Market Drayton, Minsterley and Telford.
Andrew McInnes will remain in his role as managing director of Müller Milk & Ingredients.
Mr Kers joined Muller in 2012 as head of Muller in UK and Ireland before becoming group chief executive in 2015.
Mr Sommer announced last year he would resign from group management at the end of April 2017 as part of a board restructuring.
