Telford hotel taken over as part of £525 million buyout
A Telford hotel has been snapped up by new owners as part of a £525 million deal.
Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, in Sutton Heights, is among 26 sites sold by the Qhotels chain to real estate investment company Aprirose.
The four-star hotel, in Great Hay Drive, will be operated by management company Redefine BDL Hotels on behalf of the new owners.
The hotel and spa resort has 114 bedrooms, nine individual suites inside the historic Darby House and an 18-hole championship golf course.
As a result of the partnership RBH will now manage more than 75 hotels across the UK providing 11,000 rooms.
Redefine|BDL Hotels chief executive Helder Pereira said: “This is another landmark addition to the RBH portfolio and we’re thrilled to see Telford Hotel & Golf Resort joining the rest of our properties across the UK.
"With fantastic facilities set in a stunning location, its quality and prestige speaks for itself. We also look forward to continuing – and strengthening – our already successful working relationship with Aprirose as a key hotel owner.
“This acquisition will increase our portfolio to more than 75 hotels and is in line with the company’s growth targets.”
Aprirose chief executive Manish Gudka said Telford Hotel & Golf Resort will be operated to the same excellent standards as its existing businesses including Hampton by Hilton London Docklands and Mercure Bristol Holland House.
The hotel was recently awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence.
