Bridgnorth Aluminium expanding with 15 new jobs
More than a dozen jobs are up for grabs with Bridgnorth's biggest employer as the company prepares for a 'huge increase' in orders next year.
Bridgnorth Aluminium currently has 15 vacancies after already recruiting a host of new staff – with 'many more' needed in the future.
The business, which supplies aluminium strip, purchased by customers in the lithographic, packaging, electrical and automotive industries, currently has more than 350 people working for the company.
The new jobs are being created in a variety of operational, administrative and strategic roles.
To meet the rise in demand, the company says it is relying on its workforce and second state-of-the-art Litho Centre, established in 2016.
A spokesperson for the business, which is based in Stourbridge Road, said: "Exciting times lie ahead at Bridgnorth Aluminium, as the company prepares for a huge increase in its order volumes in 2018.
"The company will rely on its impressive new assets – a second state-of-the-art Litho Centre – and its dedicated workforce, including all newly appointed and soon-to-be-appointed staff.
"Although the company’s new staff will go a long way in helping the business successfully manage its growth, many more vacancies will need filling in the meantime.
"The physical assets required to produce these volumes are in place, but the company will need to welcome new colleagues into the business to succeed."
Since establishing its site in Bridgnorth in the 1950s, the company has grown to become one of the town’s largest employers.
Among the vacancies on offer are four machine operators, a casthouse operator, two temporary casthouse operators, two logistics operators, a grinding operator, mobile fleet reliability coordinator and two mechanical technicians/fitters.
The business is also recruiting a training and development officer.
It comes after the firm took on three mechanical apprentices, two electrical apprentices and an IT apprentice.
Earlier this year, the business donated £5,000 to help ensure the Bridgnorth’s swimming pool remains available for people of all abilities.
An hoist, which was used to assist people with disabilities to get in and out of the pool, was condemned as being unfit for purpose.
The Help Our Pool group, which was already fundraising to get changing room refurbishments completed, approached local businesses – including Bridgnorth Aluminium – to help fund a replacement.
The firm stepped in to offer £5,000 match-funding towards a new disability platform access pool pod – replacing the out-of-date hoist.
