Evans Halshaw creates 36 jobs with new car store in Shrewsbury

More than 30 jobs are set to be created with the opening of a new car store in Shrewsbury.

Evans Halshaw has built the facility on Kings Park, Battlefield Way, creating 36 jobs.

The site, which will house more than 200 cars, is due to be officially opened on February 19.

It features a ‘Virtual Store’, which lets customers browse the retailer’s entire used car stock from any Evans Halshaw dealership around the country.

The firm said: “The purpose-built facility features a modern showroom with an innovative take on the car buying process. As well as hundreds of cars on display, customers will have access to 20,000 more in a virtual store of group nationwide.

“Customers can expect a friendly team of experts, a comfortable waiting area with complimentary tea and coffee, a children’s area and simple layout and structure, all of which make car store an easy buying, selling and service experience.

“Alongside this, the store will have a state-of-the-art after-sales centre for all servicing and MOT needs, and offer Evans Halshaw's innovative ‘Move Me Closer’ and ‘Sell Your Car’ services.”

The after-sales centre is currently being built and is due to open in March. The cost of the new car store and after-sales centre have not yet been revealed by Evans Halshaw.

Ten vacancies still remain for the new car store, including for customer service and technical roles. More information on the vacancies is available at www.jobsatpendragongroup.co.uk.

The investment forms part of Evans Halshaw's plan to open 40 car store retail sites nationwide over the next few years, with 14 already open.

“Car Store is characterised by its fresh take on the car buying g process, with stores ranging from full retailers with hundreds of cars on display and impressive after-sales services, to click and collect points for Move Me Closer and Sell Your Car Services,” the firm added.
