Shrewsbury jewellery shop shuts doors for final time
A long-standing Shrewsbury jewellers has shut its doors for the final time.
Goldsmiths, in The Square, closed on Sunday.
The nearest Goldsmiths store for shoppers in Shropshire is now in Dudley Street, Wolverhampton.
A number of residents took to social media to share their views.
Andy Tudor said: "So I see we are losing another shop in town as Goldsmiths is closing, another contribution towards a ghost town."
Marion S Dickens added: "That really is sad, it used to be Robinson's the Jewellers."
Kristy Emma Banks said: "I was recently in there and spoke to the lovely store staff. It’s a beautiful shop/building, such a shame a bit more of Shrewsbury history is closing."
Goldsmiths was approached by the Shropshire Star to comment.
